Description

This Sweet Alabama Pecan Bread is an old-fashioned Southern delight, rich with buttery pecans, brown sugar, and a touch of vanilla. Perfect for breakfast, dessert, or a cozy snack, this easy-to-make treat is packed with Southern charm and homemade goodness.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 cup of brown sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 cup of vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup of melted butter
  • 1 1/2 cups of self-rising flour
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 2 cups of chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat & Prepare:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan and line it with parchment paper for an easy release.
  2. Mix Wet Ingredients:
In a large bowl, whisk together sugar, brown sugar, eggs, vegetable oil, and melted butter until smooth.
  3. Add Dry Ingredients:
Gradually mix in the self-rising flour, stirring gently until just combined. Avoid overmixing!
  4. Incorporate Vanilla & Pecans:
Stir in the vanilla extract and fold in the chopped pecans evenly throughout the batter.
  5. Bake to Perfection:
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  6. Cool & Slice:
Allow the bread to cool for 15 minutes before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

  • For an extra tender crumb, substitute a few tablespoons of oil with buttermilk.
  • Drizzle sweetened condensed milk over the warm bread for an indulgent twist.
  • Store at room temperature for 3-4 days, or freeze for up to 3 months (wrapped tightly).
